Here is another tribute build for our dear friend,Hotwheels Bob.Bobs favorite NFL team is the Green Bay Packers. When I discussed my idea on the phone with Bob to build the Taco Trike as a Packers themed build,he told me,"I wish I thought of that first"! Remember, this was originally called the "Wedge Chopper" in the original MPC tooling,so someone there must have thought it looked like a wedge of cheese,at least that was my reasoning!!!
Packer fans are called "Cheeseheads". Now,Bob created a few decals for me,but the only ones I used of his were the three G's.Two are on the sides of the build, and the other is the floormat on the floorboard. The rest are from the Monogram NFC Football Van decal sheet. The main body is painted with a base coat of Tamiya TS56 Brilliant Orange Spray Paint, and a Top coat of Tamiya TS34 Camel Yellow Spray Paint. The interior floorboard and seat are done in Model Masters Sublime Green spray paint. The engine orange is Duplicolors Hemi Orange spray paint. The tire lettering is done in Gelly Roll white paint. The rest of the detail painting work are Testors detail paints except for some Molotow Chrome paint touches.I decided to use the Blue Glass pieces because the division the Packers are in is nicknamed the "Black and Blue" division. It was a stalled project that I got together in a little less than a month. It went together fairly easily. The hardest part was super gluing the fuel injection tubes around the steering shaft!!!!
Bob passed away four years ago this month. There is a tiny BB decal to the left of the stripe just above the windshield in his honor. This build is dedicated to him and the friendship that we had!!! Rest in Peace my Cheesehead Pal!!!!!!
Thanks for lookin'
