I built this for a friend who used to work on the real things a long time ago. So I wanted the details to be spot on and for it to look like it had been out on track for a session but was now back in the pits.. Unfortunately, Fujimi had other ideas as this is not their best kit – instructions which leave parts out, really annoying sprue mounting points and areas where I can only assume the tool maker went off for lunch and forgot where he had got up to when he came back! I thought I’d made my life easier by buying Fujimi’s own detail set but that was not a vast improvement on what came with the kit. Mind you, my own attempts at adding detail didn't always work out either, after carefully cutting and shaping the heat shielding on the under side of the tank, I realised it looked like I'd just done a rubbish job on the tank's paint! Anyway, It’s all done now and off to its new home where I hope it will be appreciated more than it was on my work bench!
