After staring at my Honest Engine every day for almost two weeks and playing with a drawing program I'm officially at a WTF moment . I've had a paint scheme idea floating around in my head for a few years so I quickly tacked it together to see if it would work . As of now I've tried a half dozen different ways and it still doesn't look right . . . I'm sure I'll figure it out , it's just going to take longer than I thought .

Time to share a sneak peek of where I'm headed with my Honest Engine , this isn't finalized but after many variations it's definitely close . Along with tweaking the paint there may be a couple minor changes to the kit parts . I currently have a major project on my bench but should still be able to get started sometime this month !

Here's my progress from last weekend . . . I started with the wheels & tires . After white primer the wheels were sprayed with Tamiya Bright Red and the centers were brush painted with some Gold craft paint . When dry they were sprayed with Tamiya TS-13 . Next the tires were each chucked in an electric drill and the treads were hit with some 220 grit sand paper , then the side walls were sprayed with some DullCote . The assembled wheels & tires . Moving on I glued the engine halves together and smoothed the seams along with cleaning up all of the other engine and coal tender pieces . Everything was given a coat of Future to seal the plastic and prevent the red from leaching into the finished paint . I had to order some paint and it should be here by the weekend so I can continue . That's all . Not much but hey I did something and that's a start !

The blue went on very nice with no touch-up needed . Once the lower part is sprayed black I can move on to other details .

Well, here it is a day before the deadline. I don't get it, I go late to bed, late to rise, and I still come in last. LOL I am putting on finishing touches today, then got to take pics. I'm working on the 1/32 TD Camaro F/C Here are the wheels that I changed The fts I used the kit tires then scratch built rims and made a mold, and casted them. The master is on the left. For the back rims, I cut the rim out out of a ft I casted. then cut the back out of a kit rim, to make a deep rear. I added a round piece of sheet plastic for where the lug nuts would go. Then casted it For the rear tires, I used 3 kit tires then used one half to widen them I made molds of the tire, but haven't casted them yet So I used masters I made Kit tire on the left, added a half to it and made the wider tire. Lots of sanding and polishing to get rid of (most) of the seams I wasn't painting these, just dull coat. the hole in the rim edge is for the valve stem Just wanted to let you guys know I am getting stuff done and should be crawling past the finish line tomorrow Thanks Jim
