Trying to get some unfinished projects complete before years end. Found another jawbreaker in my stash, so what the heck. Added a little more engine detail. Black wash and some wiring. After looking at Kieran's amazing detailed engines on here, I was inspired to get some wiring on this one. Thanks for the inspirationš .

What a great unit?! Looking good & I'm glad I was finally able to inspire somebody for good... & not evil!

What do you use for black wash ? I have tried a couple of brands but they aren't very good.

...over a painted surface I thin black acrylic, your common kid's/household stuff, with water, you can decide how dark you want it by varying the mix? With chrome, same again, but with methylated spirits instead of water, that way it 'floods' & doesn't 'gather' on the smooth surface like it does with water, it also leaves a great satin finish like polished alloy. If you want it a more chrome-look?, get a Q-tip/cotton bud? & buff the entire thing broadly over the large areas, leaving the nooks & crannies alone so they retain the dark wash & a the contrast you're after. Hope this makes sense man?!

I sprayed the chromed pieces a flat clear coat. Then used this stuff. . Works pretty good the flat clear coat grips to black wash better. It seams to not work as well putting it on straight chrome.
