I got this gluebomb over 5 years ago . It was missing a lot of pieces and most of the parts that were there were broken and covered in glue , but because it was such a scarce kit I wanted to save it. I got the remaining bits over the last couple of years and started the restoration. The chassis that was there was pretty much permanently glued , so I had to build around it ,basically one part a night. The body had a chunk missing in the rear 1/4 and the roof was caved in from glue, so I was not able to keep it in its original plastic color. Paint is Testor's color F/X (which I don't recommend) , and the chassis is Testor's Custom Lacquer orange. Hotwheels Bob came through for me again on the great looking decals ! I

Nice save,Don!!!! This is a cool kit, wish I had one!!! This is based off of a Ford Mustang, I think??? I have a 2007 Mustang Convertible which is my nice weather car...I take it out as little as possible in the Winter, and I love the car too much to expose her to the road salt chemicals they lay down on the roads on the below freezing Indiana winter days!!! So,Come on Spring!!! Ha-Ha!!! Todd

Yes, I believe its a very cartooned 69 Mustang , although the rear looks more like a 70 . It took me YEARS to find all the pieces to redo this kit ; I have to the Super Spurt to restore now, but I doubt I will ever find another set of headers for that one ! LOL

This Model car is very hard to find and I have a glue bomb and took a while to work, yet it came out superb. The exhaust pipes are quite hard to work with , wanting to make sure the connection of tips and pipe is set right then smooth out to make the lines disappear. I have done one and took me a while to finish the work. The chassis is similar to mailbu which is a little easy to find.. I built one.. and learned that the difference is just bodies. I get the chance to find a body of a ferd only and used the chassis from mailbu as a donor. IT works! Maybe you all can think of this idea some where.

I wholeheartedly agree on those headers ; I worked on them for quite a while to get rid of the seams , but mine were used, brittle and badly put together and after many time having them come apart while sanding them, I had to admit defeat and leave them as is .

Yes I can understand... the trick is ... when you try best to sand the tips to almost smooth, you can cheat it by adding black paint as a base for alclad or spaz stix. you would probably try best to air brush it and then see if it kind of disappeared, then work with it a bit and see if you finally got that point you want... then let it dry real good first and check..... add the final paint which would be chrome.
I once did have struggled with one of the pipe on these four pipes on one side... the tip would not hold well so i drilled a tiny hole, enough for the pin to put in.. clip of the excess and then glue them. Let the glue blob out the lines around the connection. Then as it dries... take ur time sand them off... let it smooth out as you sand. do not worry about the appearance of it .. because you would paint it over .
