Well,I have been wanting to start this thread for about a week....You see,a seller on Ebay had several Monogram funny cars for sale. The auctions ended last Sunday,3-18-18.One of 'em was the Monogram 57 Chevy Funny Car kit called the "Wildfire".It sold for a wopping $256.01!!!__(it wasn't his highest selling Monogram funny car either). Then another seller had a builder Wildfire on Ebay sold for $91....The builder had no work done to the body, just frame and chassis work. Here is a picture of it's box art:Now,here is some history on where the Wildfire came from....First came Tom Daniel's kit, The "Outcast":Then the Wildfire kit and this plain Jane 57 Chevy Funny car kit came out within a short time of each other: Lastly, the most affordable and latest release came out with some minor modifications. It was called Plum Crazy. Now,I have to say The "Outcast" was a kit that really interests me,and was one of the kits that I wanted to build once I started building again after several years away from the hobby.....But now the Wildfire has surpassed ANY Outcast that I have seen sold anywhere at any time!!!! That my friends puts it in a legendary status, and it will continue to grow in legend in the model car world!

...never payed it any attention until now, quite a good looking funny car. My favorite was 'Duster's last stand' which has probably had a few iterations? ....worst is paying big money for it & then it gets released again!

Dusters Last Stand originally was the Mongoose funny car , which became the Cop Out dragster . I believe the Last Stand was the last release of that kit. The other two versions have been repopped many times so if you could find a set of decals it would be easy to make a clone !

Todd I never had any of these kits as a kid, but I have to say the Wildfire version seems to be the best looking version IMO
