I just finished an old Nascar kit that I started while waiting for one of my contest cars to dry. It dawned on me as I was putting on the many decals that I got this kit in 1984 ! I even remember getting it; hard to believe its been 33 years .

I know what you mean,Don!!! I had a big scale trike kit I was originally going to enter in said contest. It was a sister kit of my favorite build that I did as a teen back in the 70's....I remember building that kit like it was yesterday, although it was actually around 40 years ago that I built it!!!! I still remember the wonderful sense of accomplishment I had when I finished it!!!! I really didn't care that there were glue spots all over it,or the paint work wasn't that great (brush painting at that,no spray bombs yet).I displayed it with the upmost pride, only to have my mom take it-----and all of my models----to Goodwill when they moved to Florida, and I was living out of state at the time of their move. My model building passion ended in 1979,only to resume about 11 years ago when my then 8 year old son wouldn't build a Dukes of Hazard diecast kit that I gave to him as a present, and he asked me to build it for him.And the rest, they say, is History!!!!! ....I still have the 1/12 Cord my old man bought for me 35-40 years ago.It was built,broken-up,re-built,broken-up & it sat in its box 'til '98-'99? when rain stopped a job I was on,I re-found it & spent a Brilliant wet-week re-building it again. So it took me nearly 40yrs to finally finish it.....MAN!it just doesn't seem that long though.
