I know work & Life are keeping People absent from the Best Site on God's Earth.....except for this German amputee midget bondage cooking vet site I found....BUT I thought I'd see how we're ALL going? Feel free to bitch all you want! I myself am working on the 1/20 VW W156 Merc'conversion, the '66 Barracuda conversion, the Horizon 'Dr.Doom' vinyl kit,all coming along swimmingly but for the afformentioned Life/work thing is a bugger.

I actually got all my stalled projects done for the contest (a first for me ) I didn't have lots of time to spend on them , but in 1 hour a night or less spent on them they really came together faster than I would have figured . I just have to get my butt in gear and post some pictures ! The builds on the bench right now are a Johan Olds F85 ragtop and an AMT Leva car ; both being restored and an old Monogram Miller Buick Regal stock car kit that I've had since about 1985 - I figured its about time I built it ! LOL

.....that Leva car's a strange bit of work, that was a concept thing by Ford?

Yes, it was a concept vehicle, that in theory would travel on a cushion of air at over 100mph. The bad part was there is no way to stop it ! I've only seen a couple of pictures of the real thing ; theres not much info out on it so I assume it wasn't around long. There was a huge fire at the Ford Rotunda in the early 1960's where some concept cars were , so it may have been destroyed. I picked this kit at a swap meet last fall , it was built and still in its original box .For $5.00 I couldn't go wrong buying it !

...I saw one once for $10’buy it now’ they had the parts laid-out & there didn’t seem to be much to it? I know they command a high price normally. The money they would have spent developing an ‘air car’ that doesn’t stop ....? ....maybe it’s where the ‘air-bag’ came from?

You're right , there's not a lot of parts and for me the hardest part is going to be sanding the glue marks off the clear dome. I doubt I'll ever find a good dome since the kits do go for big bucks - though I don't know why ! I wanted one because the kit came out the year I was born ,and I really liked the 60's box art

Interesting thread, and thanks for starting this one,Wobnob! I have been working wayyyyyy to much lately, but I'm not letting it get to me (not too much, that is!!!!).It is finally Spring, and my interest in model projects is picking up!!!!! My current projects are as follows 1.A "Fast Buck" which is an I.U.-(Indiana University)- themed bank. Our daughter is going to that college, and I am almost done with it....I needed to do something different that was quick and easy.I had a lot of the paint work done on this last Fall, and just recently started assembling it. 2.My Little T clone has stalled, but not for long!!!! 3.Got an MPC trike project I need to resume as well. 4.Bob's contest is about to start.....Still deciding on that one. 5.Oh,and speaking of unique models.I am about to show a longer term project that is missing some stuff....I picked the box up first, and the it took me like two years to find a builder "Futurista".....These didn't sell well for Monogram, even after they funded Starbird for the real car.So, they are highly collectible. The pricing reflects that on new unbuilt ones that end up on Fleabay......So the way to go is a builder....So I got most of which is in the picture below. Got some other things in mind....Several stalled builds are nagging at me! LOL Todd

I bought the "Futurista" box first, and I consider it a survivor, even as much as the model that I rescued later.... The box art is phenomenal, and is definitely in my top ten faves!
On a side note....I finished my IU themed "Fast Buck" for our daughter.....She is in town for the Easter weekend, and it will probably be back in her dorm on Monday, (she wants to put her laundry change in it).So pix may have to wait till her Summer break!

This is how I got the Leva Car , built with no paint and just enough glue to make the clear plastic cruddy , but the rest came apart with no problem. The only thing missing from the kit was the rubber air hose that you could blow through to make it float ; but I doubt I would want to use some used 50 year old hose anyway! LOL

I haven't touched a kit this year,I've got 2 vans a large scale Dr.Doom from horizon & a Jimmy Flintstone Sgt.Elias/platoon death scene ALL on the bench in various states.Dr.Doom is mostly finished but the thing is so 'A' symmetrical I have no where to put it,so it remains unfinished. I promised myself in the new year that I'd make some head-way on the 1:1 Charger that's been in my life for 30yrs.so that's where I've been,I'm still hovering & hope to come down soon.Any life changing issues that You lot have, repressed memories, implanted memories,mid-wife crises, tax advice, unwanted contact by a Nun,wanted contact by a Nun please post it hear as I need a good chuckle! Keep the Faith boys!
