Just got this in the mail today ; its a kit I thought I would never have again since my original got thrown away years ago by my parents. I just happened to be on Ebay and it popped up with 20 minutes to go. I threw a fairly low bid in , and managed to win it ! Its nearly complete, the spike is there but broken , and one of the nerf bars is missing , but it does have the original instructions, Snap-Tite catalog, Monogram catalog , and amazingly, the Thunder Bug trading card ! After 40 years I got another one of these. Funny thing though...it sure is smaller than I remember ! LOL By the way ,does anyone have a front or rear bumper for this kit , damaged or not they want to part with ? The spike too would be great , will buy or trade !

Nice score,Don!!!! I have wanted that kit for a while, too. I saw the listing on this kit that you won here.I didn't put it on my watch list because this one usually goes for some $$$$$... It's cool that it has a trading card with it!!! That alone is worth owning this kit! Todd

Yes, nice score Don, Is that body painted or is that the plastic? Sorry, I don't have any of these parts, but I think the guys at Cartoons will probably be able to help out. Like Todd said, that card is a score in itself (if you like that sort of thing) which I know you do. All of the paper stuff looks good, that's probably even more rare than the kit. Congrats The plastic is red, not painted . My original was molded in red too ; I have seen them in lime green before. The stickers on the body are really stickers ,not decals ,so they will come off easily. You're right, the paperwork in this kit is mint ! The box artwork and bright colors of the ads rally brought me back to a better time. The trading card alone has sold on Ebay for 1/2 of what I paid for the whole kit, so I think I did very well with this score. That Snoopy ad is for the biplane kit which is one of the last few kits on my grail list !

As far as I know, its in the same series as the Dune Rat ,Hemi Semi , etc. I'm no expert, but I'd say it has to be the rarest one in the series - probably because of licensing with VW, it wont be reissued eiher .
