I finally got my contest entry finished....way late, but its done ! After 50 years, the little Plymouth is back to stock form. I painted it in the same colors as it was originally in honor of the kid that built it back when I was a one year old . The car fought me the whole way ; I'll bet I painted and stripped it five times, and the trim ended up being painted as the BMF just wasn't working on it. I got lucky; I found a near complete chrome tree for this on Ebay , the tires from a model show and the rest of the trim and the taillights are from the Modelhaus. I hope you guys like it !

Revell annual ? I still have a Revell 1961 Valiant waiting to be restored ! I've been looking for parts for years for it but no luck so far. The next one on the block for restoration is a 62 f85 ragtop .

I'm looking for old kits to restore!

That's right,Don a Revell Annual....Thomas Grahams Book,"Remembering Revell Models" stated that Revell did an "Annual" series of American cars from the 1962 model year....It fizzled after that only to see MPC and Johan pick up on that "Trend".Johan may have had something to do with Revell suddenly ceasing their production of those Annual kits.....It seems Johan was more "in tune" with the Detroit Auto scene since they were based out of Michigan.....I personally think Revell was asked to stop,involving a little $$$$$ under the table,if ya know what I mean!!!! Now some of those same Revell kits fetch some $$$....Revell tried it,and I really don't know why they stopped

Now if we can just stop them from reissuing the same kits over and over,we'll be fine! LOL

The Revell Valiant I have is missing one part ,but its a very noticable one- the top grille moulding that glued to the hood. I've been looking for one for years, but no luck ,and I cant afford the prices for the junkers that show up on Ebay.Maybe someday I'll get lucky and find one.
I wonder if Revell still has the molds for their old kits? The do seem to reissue the same old stuff don't they ?

Those are all perfect candidates for the Lazarus Challenge ! Personally, I really enjoy restoring old built up kits . sometimes just finding the missing bits is the real challenge, but its really cool when I see it starting to come together

...that's true, there's nothing more satisfying than seeing a chaotic 'junkyard' listing on Ebay, peppered with the various missing parts you've been looking for & getting it because of minimal or no interest from others.
I was able to complete the PE 62 Monogram 1/8 customized engine kit & the Gene Winfield Camaro that way, Truly a GREAT feeling!
