Never ceases to amaze me these'oddball'kits, this is the 1st.I've known about this one?! I know 'canned heat' has had a couple of re-badges & the 'rodfather' had 1? I've ever seen it re-boxed as an Advent kit though. Good hunting young Todd!......why did they dump the slicks I wonder?

Thanks,Wobnob You know,I don't know why they did away with the slicks/rear wheel combo... Must have been a cost cutting measure is all I can figure.Advents were cheaper off the shelf than Revell back in the day.... Kinda like our Olds Cutlass was more expensive than a Chevy Monte Carlo thing, maybe ? I know this much.... The ONLY Rodfather I have built so far is a clone.... Who knows, this may be the first OFFICIAL one that I build!!! Lol Todd

I too would guess it was a cost cutting measure to sell cheaper kits using existing tooling . I have noticed Advent kits generally go for more money than the regular kits ,so I guess they didn't make as many .Nice score Todd !

Man, I just got this and I was wrong.....It does have the rear tire and wheel combo!!! The box art pic posted here is merely an illusion!!!! Unfortunately for me,I didn't look at the sellers listing closely...... It is missing the interior tub and the two front axle pins....now off to the parts box!!!

I recently found out another "rare" feature about this model. Not only was it released 5 years after the original Rodfather,it is molded in a dark metallic blue color....Every other Rodfather that I own or have seen is molded in regular blue dyed styrene.... I had thoughts of building it box stock now...I have one question for you all though:
What is the best scratch remover in a liquid form??? I really think this would be a cool box stock build,I just need to remove some scratches, and I think it will polish up fine, and bring out the metallic blue color...
It reminds me of some other older Revell kits that I have that are molded in a metallic color. What's funny about this kit is the fact that Revell cut costs in production with the Advent line, but I would be led to believe that metallic molded kits would cost more to make.Just my opinion though. They also didn't make as many Advent kits as their regular line of Revell kits,so that would also lead one to believe that they would want to reduce molding/production costs even more....So,if the year of production is right, this may have been a retool, most likely it is a retool. It really is a remarkable version of the fabled "rodfather"

I use Maguire's plastic polish and cleaner, its meant for motorcycle face shields ; I also use "The Treatment' ,its a carnuba type polish that has saved many a clear glass in my restorations ,plus you can polish unpainted plastic .
